In this article we’re going to go over what I recommend as the best portable hair dryers for traveling.
The way I’m going to lay this article out is my best recommended one first then below it will be my second place, then third and so on in that fashion.
Underneath the items you’ll be able to find some more additional info about it like specifications on cord length, wattage and stuff of that nature.
Alright let’s kick things off with my most recommended one!
- Ionic Style Hair Dryer
- Small Size and Lightweight
- 1876 Watt Power
- Comes with 3 heat and 2 speed settings
- Eco Setting option
This hair dryer has major hair drying power for being such a small item.
It’s not a just blow as much hot hair as possible though it comes with an ionic style which works amazing for my hair.
The 3 heat setting works well if you have kids that you prefer to use a lower setting instead of the all out blast and lets head out setting.
Never used the eco option but its nice to have especially if your into that sort of thing.
- Light Weight (1 pound)
- Good Cord Length (6 Foot Cord)
- Foldable handle make it more compact
- Great hair drying for a travel hair dryer
- 1875W Dual Voltage
For such a small hair dryer it is able to dry my hair very quickly which is superb considering I have long thick hair.
The size makes it very easy to pack into a bag or put on a cluttered bathroom counter.
It’s very durable from my perspective with many times being dropped with zero issues arose from it.
A feature mentioned from Conair on this item is, “Emits negatively charged ions, which counteract hair-damaging positive ions” which I have zero clue what that exactly means but Conair seems to have put a lot of thought into this hair dryer just like all of their other ones.
This is an overall well-built hair dryer all the way around.
- Light Weight
- Two blow drying speed settings
- Great Cord Length (6 Foot)
- Hanging Loop perfect for hanging on the wall
- Easy clean filter on back
- Comes with a concentrator nozzle
The full review of this hair dryer can be found here.
Even though this hair dryer isn’t foldable it makes up for it with other features.
Despite the non-folding option it is still a small hair dryer perfect for carrying in a bag.
The hanging loop makes it ideal if you know you will have a wall hanging mount somewhere in the bathroom area to save with counter space.
The filter on the back helps with cleaning loose hairs or lint that gets in it which is a nice extra to have.
It comes with a nozzle attachment which helps with faster drying and reducing frizz but if you’re traveling I don’t see this being a must to bring along as it will just take up more room in your bag.
This is a wonderful hair dryer that you will no doubt love to have when getting ready in the mornings before you head out to your vacation spot (traveled area).
- Dual Voltage
- Foldable Handle
- Lightweight and Quiet
- “Tourmaline Ceramic Technology” Frizzy hair fighter
- 2 speed settings
Just to note that deciding between this hair dryer and the MHD one above it was a very hard decision to determine which one should be 2nd/3rd.
Wanted to mention that if you are trying to decide between the two they’re both excellent hair dryers.
Take away the looks and you have very similar features of this one and the MHD hair dryer.
From the hanging loop to the coming with a nozzle.
Major difference as traveling goes is that this one has a folding handle.
Another distinct difference is this one is very quiet which makes it perfect for those hotel room stays where you don’t want to wake up the kids/spouse.
- Light Weight (1 pound)
- Dual Voltage
- 1000 watts
- Hanging loop
- Tourmaline Titanium technology
This tiny hair dryer may look weak from its size but it provides plenty of power even from a 1000 watts to get your hair dry.
This is just a good ole fashion hair dryer that does exactly what it was meant to do which is get that hair dry.
Even though this hair dryer didn’t provide as fast of a dry as some of the other mentioned on this list it still got the job done in a reasonable time frame while leaving my hair frizz free.
That is really all I can ask out of a travel hair dryer so it does exactly what it needs to do.
If it was my main home hair dryer that I use every day I might critique it a little harder as what I need when I travel this gets the job done.
Overall if you picked any hair dryer on this list I feel that you would be happy with your pick but for those who really want their hair to look its best then I give the details a closer look to find which one you think will work best for you.
Thanks for reading and happy travels!
